This was pretty dark and twisted, definitely not for the faint of heart. All that aside it was a very good book and kept me on my toes. The notes from the father were so touching, and the determination of two sisters was what made it amazing

I just love everything about this book! the characters, the plot, the mood, and the progression of the story. I love how the story is put together most especially the content of the dad's letter to her missing daughter in betwen chapters. So far, this is my best read of 2025!

Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter is an intense and mysterious ride that had me hooked for the entire book. I've seen Karin Slaughter's name around Amazon and Goodreads quite a bit, but never actually took the time to read one of her works, until now, and I'm so glad I did. Pretty Girls is easily one of those books I think would make an amazing movie. It's realistic, suspenseful, and gripping.

Lydia and Claire have both had different lives, even though they are sisters and have both been impacted by the mysterious disappearance of their older sister years ago. It was very interesting to see how they both reacted so differently to that horrible event in their past. Pretty Girls is a LONG read, but managed to keep my attention the entire way through with it's gripping prose and realistic story-line.

wow! This was an incredible read! I've seen this book on a few 'books that f-ed me up" and I thought, hey that sounds good, and instead of running to the bookstore I ran to my mother's who has an impressive collection of thrillers on her stairs because she gives away books she has read (I could never!). And I was so happy when I found this book hidden among the piles.
This book made me feel everything.
So heart wrenching and sad. I love the pacing of the book, the way the characters connect, the snippets of letters from Sam (broke my heart). Completley and utterly devastating in the best way possible!!
