I really enjoyed this series! It was a little hard to get back into the story after finishing the previous book, getting used to new characters and settling back into the "novel through documents" style, but boy, they are hard to put down for the last 150 pages. For anyone who enjoys space-based science fiction, this is a fun one!
4.5 stars
One of the things that I appreciate so much about this series is their ability to discuss hard hitting topics, while keeping humor and lightness to it. For example, is AIDAN evil? Or is he just without Humanity? Can we expect him to have humanity when he is just AI? But, then he seemed to evolve more, bringing in the question if we give something intelligence, could it grow to be more?
I also loved what they said about Asha, that the other two Heroines were bad asses and competent, but that Asha was just a normal girl that did not excel in anything really. That she could have been one of "us" and yet, here she was standing up to those that are bigger and badder than she is. This arguably makes her braver than the others, because she knows that she doesn't have tai kwon do training, or massive hacking skills in her pocket. She is just a regular girl, standing up for what is right.
And MAN, did there need to be SO many heartbreaks, then JK's?

it’s going to take me approximately 5-10 working days to process this trilogy
this series was a space opera with such dynamic characters who make me laugh so fucking much. They’re such a fantastic family of smol beans I love them all.
Read these books!
All a complicated human/computer relationship!?!?
Isaac Grant is a gem. Yelling at the kids for swearing, he was such a dad, he deserves the world.
Also I am still not over the elaborate and interesting and unique way this story was told through emails, comms, radio communications, surveillance cameras (narrated by Nik XD), and so much more. It was glorious to experience the story through that and not straight writing. It made the story so complex and easy to read. I flew through it in multiple readings over a week.
Highly recommend!
Also love all my fems in the story: Kady, Hanna, Asha, and Ella. They are all badasses who I love.

I am so sad this series is over, but I loved it so much. I love the characters. I thought this was a really great ending to such an interesting series!
Intense, murdery and hilarious (between all the murdering)
Kristoff books will remain on my to buy list until I’ve got them all!

i just love this series. so fun, so novel. like an action movie in book format!
Obsidio is the final book in the Illuminae Files series. I loved it. There were many players in this one, but thankfully most of them were introduced in the prior books so it wasn't too hard to keep track.
The twists and turns and misdirects in this third installment were fabulous and tricked me almost every time. When authors are able to pull that off, I am so enthused about the experience. This was a satisfying end to the trilogy, though I was often on the edge of my seat and concerned about what the outcome would be.

Fantastic conclusion to this epic series. Intensity of the story kept me reading well into the late hours.
