Such a great ending to an amazing sci-fi series. It's action-packed. I cried, I laughed, I gasped... And I found the ending highly satisfying.

Although it felt a little less deep from the previous two, it was still a great ride. Also, the cast of characters grew to an almost unwieldy amount to feel vested in the new ones upon reflection. The ending was also fairly predictable, but I was still caught up in every page.
Loved it. I liked the first one a lot, and I liked the second one. This one brought it all home, as a book three of a trilogy should. The statement on war was clear, but not overbearing, and this one made me see all of the threads woven toward that message in the first two. I couldn't wait to get back to it because I was so caught up with the characters and the plot.

Obsidio was a good conlusion and overall I had fun reading it.
My very favourite book from the series is Illuminae (book one) - because I liked the plot the best (space zombies) and the main characters best as well (although they are here plenty as well), close after that is Gemina (book two) and then Obsidio (this final book).
I find that this last book focused - and relied on - much more on the old characters from the previous two books - Kady, Ezra, Hanna and Nik, rether than the new additions - Asha (Kady's cousin) and Rhys. I feel like I got to know the two a little, on very much a surface level, but not even half as much as the previous ones. That said, I was happy still that the conclusion had so much of the older characters and AIDAN and that they played such big part in it, much more than (Kady and Ezry) in Gemina. So that was great, but it also meant much less page time for the new characters. There were definitely times where I felt like Asha and Rhys shouldn't end up together - we were told through Asha's "pov" of what a bad influence they were to each other, and how much Asha improved as a person without him. Then the romance developed again and I felt like it was out of nowhere and every problem was just pushed aside and forgotten, but I wasn't actually shown anything to make me believe that they could work together. In the end, I am pretty much meh about them. My favourite ship from this trilogy is Kady and Ezra.
The plot was fun and overly dramatic (sometimes) and gripping as always, although not overly surprising anymore. Definitely missed some space creepiness though (aside for the AIDAN kind - of that there was plenty). I loved the formatting and graphics and illustrations as always.

Such a great series! Intense from start to finish.
And though she let even the boy she loves go
She
Holds
Me
Still
And for that shining moment,
I do no feel so alone anymore - AIDAN
I have really enjoyed this series and this was a good end to round it off with.
It still did not top Illuminae for me, but I still really enjoyed the format, plot twists and story. It is so addictive.
This series has definitely been plot driven, the last 100 pages in this book never slow down! The characters, however, felt all the same to me. There were no defining features about the three pairs of characters. They were all witty and feisty, which I do like those is a character but literally, all of them were the same. If it did not label who they were I really would not be able to tell them apart.
The character which was set apart, however, was AIDAN. Man I love that thing. He's flawed, he's confused and he just tries to do the right thing. It's tragic. I love him.
Overall, I loved how different and action packed this series was.
Now let me just cry at how perfect AIDAN is.

Literally. Cannot. Even.
My mind is blown. This is a new genre for me and it has blown my mind.
Near the end. Tears. Crying and sobbing like a baby. Then getting to the actual last pages of the court case and OH MY DAYS.

Oh my god. This book RUINED me. Quite possibly, it’s my favourite in the entire trilogy. I loved seeing how everything fit together, and I especially loved the ending. There was less of a romantic theme, which I appreciated, and it was nice seeing all the characters from throughout the books interacting. Also, I really enjoyed the fact that we got more of the ‘villain’s’ perspective, from smaller antagonists to BeiTech soldiers. It really gave them more depth and added to the story. I don’t think I even have any complaints, that’s how amazing this is.
