So many tropes were checked off in this book.

The world building is interesting and mysterious enough that I will probably eventually continue, if only because it's an easy read with low personal stakes since I didn't really care about the characters.  The banter was amusing and the plotting was fun.  There were some pacing issues, but it was kind of necessary plot-wise so I'm not bothered by it.

Well this book completely took me by surprise! I will admit I found the first 10% a little predictable but the writing immediately drew me in. Once I was at 20% I was hooked & the plot just kept surprising me from that point onwards until the last page! 

Such a fun na (which felt more adult) romantic fantasy ~ which while it had ALL the tropes I love, it never felt tropey! It felt authentic to the story ( I think I have found a new auto buy author ) 

I really love the FMC, the magic system & world was really interesting & I love where the plot went - even with some predictable plot lines I was still surprised with how we got there. 

& the MMC OH MY GOD! Possessive, controlling, arrogant & sexy AF!! I’m obsessed!! 

& I can not WAIT for b2
