My son liked it as much as Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See. A good way of teaching about endangered species to kids.

This is a cute, rhyming story with illustrations by Eric Carle. My kids enjoyed this books, as did I. Pretty much anything that Eric Carle has his name on is going to be enjoyable. I recommend this book.

I like this one better than Brown Bear, Brown Bear--both the animals and the vocabulary are more interesting.

Great for beginning readers. I love the illustrations and how it goes back over the animals at the end

For: animal fans; readers looking for a book with an evolving plot and encouraged interaction.

Possible red flags: some may find to repetitive.

Super great for low-level English speakers because it is repetitive and has simple sentence structure. Good for follow-up questions and games, too (I Spy modified to match the question structure in the book, color identification, follow the leader based on verbs in the book, etc).

The idea is a good one. And the selection of animals is interesting. But the text is boringly repetitive and uninteresting. And the art is just nothing special. No additional message makes up for this either. Just kind of blah without actually being bad. 2.5 of 5.

Other than beautiful illustrations, these books have such sweet and unexpected endings that makes you smile and go through the whole story again. :)

Weird choices for animals but okay
