The first half was pretty good, and there were a lot of helpful and empowering gems. That said, it's written with complete arrogance and pride - the authors see their point of view as THE best way to do things, no questions asked. Also very Christian-forward, which I thought was inappropriate and out of place for a parenting book.

This is a great book! I loved a lot of the concepts they talk about, like putting the responsibility for decisions and consequences on the child, helping the child become independent, and looking for win-win situations while parenting. Now for the hard part--implementing all the concepts I learned about. I would definitely recommend this book!

The book discusses an interesting parenting approach of allowing kids to make decisions for themselves and deal with the consequences (good and bad) as a result. The book could've been more helpful if it better divided approaches into age categories. As the parent of toddlers, it would be good to have a more detailed age-appropriate breakdown to reasonable choices and responsibilities for young children.

While the strategies in this book may work for some children, there was little consideration of developmental appropriateness. Logical consequences have their place in effective parenting but they are only one part of a very complex equation. This book falsely asserts that the use of logical consequences is all that is needed. This is dangerous and irresponsible.

I’m a Love & Logic parent for life. That being said, I can tell this is outdated. I’d love to see an updated version that includes more real life scenarios including single parents and blended families. The class, text snippets, and sound bites are engaging, but the book itself isn’t what sold me on the philosophy.

I will take some things away from this- though no one "method" covers it all perfectly, it was a useful read

Practical and not too preachy. It is also refreshing to have a book based on Christian philosophy without being judgmental or feeling like there is an agenda.

I went to a few Love & Logic trainings when I worked in the schools and was recently reminded of this book by a friend. The tactics are great. Sometimes the authors get a little preachy and dogmatic, but I will certainly use their ideas.
