Came for the paladin, stayed for the useless goddess. Really loved the monster of the week style adventure. Orsina sometimes was a bit too thick to be believable, but maybe that’s just part of who she is.

It felt a little short for me and the romance was by no means a slow burn, which is fine for what the story set out to be. Not quite my taste, but it suited the story for what it was. That’s really the only reason why it gets less than 5 stars from me; otherwise it was a solid, sweet wlw fantasy romance.

A much improved sequel to the very enjoyable first book of the series! Good characters in a world with an interesting intersection of politics and religion. I'm really looking forward to the next one :)

Like the first book, read it on one day, it was delightful ! I truly love the alliance of romance and fantasy, it's really well written. I love the MCs, they change from the first book and offer an interesting dynamic : goddess of the chaos undercover and soldier who fights any god of the chaos. Aelia is the sweetest and I love that Orsina learnt her worth throughout the book. The universe gets more detailed and I loved the different "monsters".
My main issue, the same with the last book, is that it's a bit short, the third act conflict is a bit rushed imo. But, it's still worth it obviously!

Omg! If you're not sure about reading this book, this is your sign to!!
I absolutely loved this book. I love the world and all the lore it's built upon. I absolutely adore the f/f pair, I love Orsina and Aelia. I also love that there's a lot of lgbt+ representation without all the self-congratulatory gongs. People just are who they are and families just exist, be it fathers, mothers or one of each (as the author puts it).

Please give this book a chance and try to buy it and leave a review so that we can get more beautifully-written wlw fantasy!
