I haven't been able to finish this book. It's Melissa Brayden and her writing style but felt almost ghost writer-y to me. The book didn't pick up the pace for me. I found myself spacing off every time the audiobook was playing. The characters fell flat, the setting didn't seem realistic, it all felt fake. It was overall disappointing.

Thank you to Net Galley and Boldstroke Books for providing me with an e-ARC copy! All opinions in this review are my own and are honest.

The main reason I requested this was because one of my goals for 2018 was to read more diverse romance books and this features a lesbian romance along with a good sounding plot! I didn’t realise that this was the second book in the Seven Shores series however the this can be read as a standalone as the first book is about Isabel and Taylor’s relationship who are mentioned in this book as Isabel is one of Autumns best friends.

This is probably going to be a very similar review to the review I wrote for Twice in a Lifetime so apologies! Again, this was a simple straight forward read which I blitzed through in a day. It was just a nice, easy read and sometimes that’s exactly what is needed so that isn’t a bad thing

This follows Kate who decides she needs to get away from her small town after being labelled a hero for rescuing 2 kids out of a burning building when she doesn’t think she deserves the title. And then we have Autumn, who is recently out of a long-term relationship where her partner cheated on her and is thinking about starting her family. Kate ends up vacationing in LA where Autumn just so happens to live and work and obviously they end up meeting and a relationship forms.

It was an interesting story-line, but it felt a bit rushed. There was a lot of time-skipping and glancing over things which made things a bit confusing sometimes when one minute they were gong for dinner and then the next paragraph was a day or a week later. This could have benefited with a slight more fleshing out as this was only 232 pages so adding a bit more to clarify between time points slightly better. But other than that, I really enjoyed the plot; I really liked the inclusion of being a modern woman and wanting children when you don’t have a partner and therefore having to go through it alone. And there was also the issue with Kate and the kids she rescued and the possibility of adopting them. I felt it was all handled really well.

I didn’t feel like I missed anything from not reading book in this series; each of the characters mentioned are fleshed out in this book so we found out plenty about Autumn and Kate and also the side characters. We also got a great run down on the different staff who ended up working at Autumns coffee shop and they didn’t feel like they’d been randomly chucked in either as an extra part of the story.

I really enjoyed this and would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a nice, easy quick read to fly through which involves a lesbian romance. It was a great introduction into f/f romance along with Twice in a lifetime.

Our resident red head! I think out of all of the core four, Autumn would be the one I would most likely be friends with! How badly do I wish The Cat’s Pajamas was in my neighborhood? Answer, very badly… Starbucks hasn’t hit the same since! Kate was a welcomed addition to the group, and brought a very different vibe. Their relationship was sweet!

I didn’t love the proposal at the end because I thought things were moving too quickly, but when I reflect back on the book it makes more sense because both Autumn and Kate were on an accelerated timeline with their life decisions.

This was a really sweet romance! I loved how close-knit and supportive Autumn's friends were. The banter between Autumn and Kate felt so natural, like I was watching a real life couple who was very much in love interact. I will say that the ending felt a bit rushed what with that shocker of a proposal but it was nice to see them end up with one another and get that picture perfect ending that always leaves me swooning. 3.5/5 stars from me!

While I was glad to go back to Seven Shores, this book didn't give me as many feels as the first one. I loved to read more about the Cat's Pajamas' coffee, and of course the group of friends, but the romance didn't quite do it for me. Still, quite enjoyable :)
Now, let's read the third one!

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. I absolutely loved this book, and I absolutely flew through it. You can read this book as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the first book in the series. What makes this book so amazing more so than the romance between Kate and Autumn is the friends that are incorporated into this series. The friendships are so real and amazing that you get sucked into their world, and you can see each of their individual personalities shining through. You will not regret giving this book a chance.

So I didn't love this but I also didn't hate it.

Things I loved was Autumn standing up to her mom, Autumn trying to get pregnant, Kate's relationship with those kids (yes, it did make me sad when she couldn't adopt them anymore) and obviously the friendship between Autumn, Gia, Isabel and Hadley (Had still being my favorite of the group).

After loving the first book in this series, I was kinda disappointed with this, it was boring a lot of times and didn't interest me as much. If I wasn't this stubborn, I probably would've dropped this book. But the last few chapters were really wholesome and cute and really saved it from me (I wanted to give it 2 stars at first).

I never read books from this author before but I can assure you that she can write and a kick-ass when it comes to female empowerment when I am reading a book that has lgbt+ the first thing I look for is that the author is giving their readers the right information about the lgbt+ community since I make part of the same community I wish that the chapters were a bit shorter because it took me a long time to read the whole book. I gave this book a 4 out 5 stars. 'Netgalley ARC provided by The Publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review'
