Wow, truly, this book was amazing. The entire thing was so engaging. The world-building was absolutely beautiful and so well-written. I appreciate that she really brought in aspects of the horrifying bits of Fae magic lore.

I love all the characters, including Gadfly. They all had unique personalities that brought them to life for me. My personal favorites were March and May, due to the fact that they are beings of pure chaos. When March released a live toad from her mouth I was practically crying from laughter.

The only thing I'm hung up on is how exactly they'll be living their lives in the future. I assume Isobel is now immortal/ageless? Also, I would very much like to know both her and Rook's true names.

I know book-to-movie adaptations aren't usually that good, but I would still love to see this on-screen. Actually, I would like to absorb this story in every way possible.

I'll be thinking about this book for a while.

I don’t like that she is 17 and he is 100s of years.

”Why do we desire, above all other things, that which has the greatest power to destroy us?”

Remember the girl who almost died out of boredom while reading this book? Oh yeah, that’s me.

So where do I start? I picked this book up expecting it to be more like A Court of Thorns of Roses but holy bookish shit, it’s not. I know that a lot of readers love this book but it honestly just isn’t for me. Yes, the writing style is magical and whimsical but the characters and the plot is a huge no, no. This book just contains a lot of elements that I wasn’t fond of --insta fucking love-- The world building is amazing and the faeries in this story were more like Mortal Instruments kind of faes except; they cannot create human crafts using their own hands ‘coz they might turn into dust.

Isobel, is a decent character but she’s the type of character that just passes you by, she’s not the leave-her-mark-in-your-heart type of female protagonist. The story was going so well on the start but of course the heroine fucking did an instalove and destroyed the whole point of the plot.

Rook, is the leading man of this book and I just don’t see why readers love him so much. He feels too two dimensional and shallow. He just isn’t someone that I would fangirl on.

The beginning is a solid two star rating for me but the ending is a four star one so I guess, I’ll just resort to an overall rating of 2.5 stars.
I know that a lot of people are hyped about this book but I think I missed the part where readers are smitten with.

This story was okay, I liked it better than the author's other novel, but I could have enjoyed it better if I wasn't in the middle of reading slump and did not read a single sentence for weeks.

This was a great book and I’m a sucker for happy endings! I definitely felt this reminded me a lot of The Cruel Prince, which I adored. Although this wasn’t a 5 star for me like Sorcery of Thrones was, Margaret Rogerson is easily becoming a favorite author of mine.
