This is the fifth installment for the Enola Holmes series and is so far my favorite! I felt this one was more gripping and suspenseful. I really enjoyed it.

The inclusion of clothing details, especially as they're important features, in some cases still do not ring true to me for the history.
The narrator seemed to have lost the youthful voice used for Enola, while, yes, she is "14 going on 30", still she sounds too old.
But for all these negatives that I review, I still enjoy the story, the adventure, tastes of history, the sibling relationship (and the total lack of romantic story, yes, I think that's a refreshing difference from other stories).
SpoilerAgain the note on corsets as torture devices is overdone - agreeing with Sherlock, surely not so many upper class women could have succumbed to tight-lacing, as the species survived. While the inclusion of Florence Nightingale was nice and having her speak to him on the subject of Enola's freedom, the only reasoning she seemed to give was that Enola wanted to avoid boarding school in order to avoid the death by tight-laced corset. Surely she could have said something about the other ways in which women were not free.

I actually really enjoyed this book in the series! There was a nice, consistent pace throughout the book and a lot more engaging than the previous books.
