Similar vibes to IT
Young kids fight the evil lingering around their home town, as old as the town itself
Switches from different POVS which I don't mind, it's nice to see the different perspectives
As far as horror goes, I'd say it's pretty mild, but still has the ability to make you glance over your shoulder at whatever little creaks decide to creep up on ya.

Moderate: Blood and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Fire/Fire injury

Excellent, creepy, atmospheric.... so far I've listened to two Darcy Coates books and they were both excellent and had me going back and forth between it being a monster or a person as the villain.... this one gave off some IT vibes toward the end, but I still really liked how it ended up.
The only thing, is I didn't particularly love any of the characters... they all felt rather flat, but it didn't keep me from being invested from early on. Lol. I kind of pictured all the kids from Recess as I listened. Lol. And Charles Vicker was Freddy Kreuger before he was murdered by the parents lol. I love when my brain actually conjures up visuals for me and they're so completely random I can't help but laugh.
