Author appears to have found inspiration from reading Stephen king’s novel “It”

Thankfully they added some of their own flare to the story and also made it PG-13 which may appeal to a wider audience.

I will say the ending felt too clean/easy. For a book almost 400 pages long, you would think you would spend some time on the resolution vs all the excessive details in the beginning.

Like what the fuck was going on with Abby’s mom? That side story felt like a completely different book. But it was once again resolved within a single sentence.

I absolutely devoured this book! This book went by super fast and it kept me hooked the entire time. The main 6 kids were all likeable and I loved seeing how close they all were even if it was to be safe in this dangerous town. The descriptions of the Stitcher were all well done and I loved how graphic they were to be honest. I will say, there was one point where the word 'splatter' was used to describe blood on the wall and the correct word to use is 'spatter' that was truly the only thing to bug me. 

While I am sure there were things that could have been expanded on, I enjoyed this book too much to truly care and hence why my rating is super high. This book though did give me a lot of stress in the last 20% of the book since they were in the caved and they could have died. It was super tense and I read the rest of the book in one sitting because of that. This read like Stranger Things because of a group of kids trying to defeat some supernatural entity. Again, this was great and I can see myself rereading this book.
