So entertaining and I highly recommend having a 90s ambience YouTube video going for your background sound, even though this is set present day. Stranger things vibes for sure! A classic thriller.

This book was definitely creepy and chilly. The story was like one of those campfire ghost stories that kids tell. My two complaints are that some of the characters seemed really one dimensional and the other is that it was a little bit long and could have wrapped up in a few less chapters.

Half way through this book, I just couldn’t take the stupidity of the characters anymore … two stars for the creepy first 10 pages and the decent world building the author managed to carry out :/

Solid plot, but definitely took a lot of inspiration from Stephen King's IT. Not necessarily a bad thing. Quick read, engrossing plot, but did leave a few questions unanswered.

Hot damn, this was FANTASTIC. As I've said many times before, it takes a lot for horror books to actually scare me, but this one managed it time and time again. There was something so inherently creepy about the idea of this town haunted by a serial killer that they're all convinced they've identified and yet there's no proof and anyone who specifically tries to stop him ends up dead/missing? Brilliant.

The way the kids worked together was fantastic, and I loved getting the perspective of a kid who's grown up in the town as well as an outsider experiencing it for the first time. The graphic elements of the story were fantastically creepy and I absolutely flew through this book because I HAD to know what was going to happen.

It may not work for everyone. But it sure as hell worked for me.
