Everytime I start a Hemingway novel I'm unsure if I like his writing style but by the end of the book I'm hooked. Thoroughly enjoyed.

I’m not usually a fan of war books but Hemingway’s writing style was very pleasant to read. The book was brutal at times and it definitely did not glamorise war; but it painted a picture of war comradery.

I tried, I really did, but I didn't get on with the writing style at all - I even found Jack Kerouac easier to read!
