Spoooooooooooooooooky spirals
Closer to 1.5/5
The one good thing I have to say is that the art was technically impressive at times.

I don't engage a lot with the horror genre but I heard a lot about Junji Ito so I wanted to give it a try. The thing about horror for me is that it's usually either so scary/disturbing that I can't enjoy it or it fails to produce any emotional response from me at all. Uzumaki definitely falls into the latter camp. I get that its a horror manga about haunted spirals so I wasn't expecting "realism" per se, but also the stories felt so absurd that they were almost comedic (but not quite that either).

An awesome and terrifying story that gets weirder as the chapters go by. Stunning illustrations that convey all the terror we're reading.

someone needs to help my guy shuichi please that kid is so fucking depressed :(

loved this a lot, it really stays with you but in a really unsettling way (of course). impressed by all the iterations of spirals that were introduced, got attached to the characters, and i loved how everything all came together at the end
I thought it was a little funny when another god awful thing started happening in korouzu-cho and kirie was talking to shuichi about it and he was just like "yeah it's the fucking spiral again 馃様" and kirie was like "oh shit, for real? goddammit :/"

also at some point you think you have been desensitized to all the body horror and think you couldn't possibly be surprised by what happens next but then u find out you are mistaken. because people are fucking

Me gust贸.

Me gustaron mucho Shuichi y Kirie. Tambi茅n me gustaba Chie... F.

Es admirable 鉂わ笍
