This book was just OK. The George from college to present-time George showed no growth and he was naïve the entire length of the book. While some readers might find it endearing, I found it quite unbearable. If there was some character growth in the book, my rating wouldn’t be as harsh.
In psychological thrillers, it’s common to not have a conclusive ending; and that’s fine. But I really didn’t like this ending. It was too abrupt and we don’t know what happens to either George or Liana/Jane/Audrey; which is what I was looking forward to the entire length of the book.

Did not finish. I got maybe 1/3 into it. The characters felt like they could all be the same person and they had no development whatsoever. The main character was really annoying and not believable. Couldn't bring myself to finish.
Was a bit slow to start with but really picked up and was an interesting plot. I liked the two timelines too.
Wow! I loved every character and how in depth they were I also love the flashbacks to complete the story! Like I’ve said before I love this author I finished this book in two days!
Really nice, i love the unexpected plottwists and the nicely described intimate details
I had high hopes for this book because i liked [b:The Kind Worth Killing|21936809|The Kind Worth Killing|Peter Swanson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1417981750l/21936809._SY75_.jpg|41240456] was so good! but this one was not so much for me
3.5/5
I enjoyed this, but not as much as I enjoyed The Kind Worth Killing, which is officially my favourite Peter Swanson novel.
I did like the ending, which was left sort of open ended in a similar way to TKWK. It allows the reader to have some imagination as to what happens next, and although I'm not sure I know how I want it to end, I appreciated the complex and complicated story that is Liana.

quite a good book, pity that the shorts tell you a major twist though.
It's a rare novel I find engrossing to the "can't put it down" point, but this one was it. True to the noir genre and somewhat farfetched, but it had me hooked from the start.

Swanson went too far with this one. The writing style does not fit the Swanson-style and feels "off". The reveal is way over the top... even for Swanson.
