Es la historia bastante breve contada en un estilo de fabula, sobre un romance con tintes melancolicos. El autor escribe este relato como el titulo, de forma delicada y con pausas en casi cada pagina. En el afan de conseguir los delicados huevos del gusano de seda, Herve joncour se va al japon y es en ese pais donde su vida da un giro inesperado porque conoce a la enigmatica mujer que sera la razon de sus futuras acciones.
Este libro se lee en una sentada, facil, nada pretencioso y con un tema interesante y sencillo, yo creo que es bastante recomendable para cualquier tipo de lector.

This is a jewel of a book. Poetic and sensual. A short novella. Very spare - hardly any descriptive details, but SOooo much is said! A love so intense it unhinges the mind is how the book was described and that is certainly true. So much is made of Herve’s love for the mysterious woman in Japan, but so little is said about Helene’s love for Herve --- just as passionate, just as intense, just as all-consuming. And her sacrifice is greater, I think.
Also saw the movie – gloriously filmed but the actor is miscast as Herve.

Unfortunately you either like the way the author writes his books or you don’t like it at all, and I happen to be one of those people who actually enjoys it! This book didn’t really strike me tho, I was expecting something else from it.

Ce livre est d'une poésie incroyable. Une courte lecture, en quatre soirs j'avais lu Soie. Les métaphores de Baricco sont à couper le souffle et d'une troublante beauté. Probablement le plus beau livre que j'ai lu en 2015.
