So it took me a bit longer to finish this one, I’ve been sitting on some arcs that had to take priority lol. But also the plot is starting to feel a bit repetitive at certain parts. This is only book three and it feels like the characters have gone though so much. Honestly I may take a break and come back to finish the last two books.

Pros: the plot is very unique and I will say it’s extremely well written. I love seeing all of the different characters develop and how they all interact. Also still love Bitzy, and Ash is becoming a fav quickly.

Cons: there is A LOT going on and sometimes I will say how they are all connected gets a bit confusing. Warwick is growing on me but he seems fairly immature and I think has some growing up to do before they can be together. The plot is getting repetitive in certain parts and with two books left still I’m dreading how much more can happen to these dang characters.

Still planning on finishing the series though.

Oh wow, this third book blew me away it was bloody fantastic and I was mesmerised from start to finish. This series is non-stop action and seriously addicting, it practically reads itself I'm enjoying it that much. There's a lot going on here, too much really to get into, so I'm going to be brief, well at least for me. So firstly Warwick, man he's it for me I'm bloody obsessed with the wolf that he is and he and Brexley are absolute magic together. Their chemistry is insane and practically sizzles off the page.

This was like a runaway train with so many twists and turns and if you're looking for the spice this is the book that delivers the goodies and I have to say it was worth the wait. Warwick and Brexley are slow-burn done well. This is also so well written and the world-building here is top-notch. This is turning out to be one of my favourite series ever and i totally recommend reading. I can't believe I delayed as long as I did and if I could give this series more than five stars I so would.

Alright, this book is redeeming what I disliked about book 2 for sure. 4.5 stars because the first half the book was a 4, the second half a 5.

My issue with the first half is simply it felt like a copy of the previous book, in which she ends up in her dad’s best friend’s (like her uncle) resistance and we get a bunch of new characters.
In this one, she learns she has her actual other uncle who is alive still and is in charge of the main resistance we first learn about in book 1. A whole new bunch of characters my mind struggled to keep up with.
Uncle #1 is lovely. Uncle #2 sucks. He says she’s to help them but then says things like, ‘I won’t tell you things until i trust you.’ Um, I’m sorry - you want my help, you need to tell me things.
This part just bothered me.

BUT past that, I was really sucked into the rest of the series. I feel like so many questions are answered while new ones pop up. We’ve made strides in learning about Brex and her abilities, and even at the end, the truth of her heritage.

After so much angst in 2.5 books, we get what we all wanted between Brex and Warwick. I will say, their romance is amazing because although it took an entire 2 books for physical stuff to happen (not ghostly) and for feelings to be admitted, I was never bored with this in the other books. Wanting, yes, but never annoyed. I was for the angst and banter, but protective Warwick is also pretty amazing.

Not sure what else I could say about this? It’s a great balance of politics, old faces, adventure, steam, romance, humour, and getting answers all in an explosive, energetic story meant to keep you on your toes.

Me the whole time: “Ugh… againnnn?” *sighs**skims*

That was wayyyy too long and repetitive my goodness. Too much out-of-place horn, same plot devices being used over and over, I noticed it in book 2 but it was RAMPANT in book 3.

The plot felt like it was barely moving like the pace was stalling, using the romance (which was really starting to get old) as scapegoat, and I was getting so impatient I started skimming hard only reading when something plot-wise actually happens which was in bits and pieces throughout this overly drawn on book.

Agh this book’s disappointment is weening me off reading book 4… but I’m too invested now in knowing what happens so I will try.

Update: ah I think I’ll drop the series since apparently the redundancy and lack of character development and overuse of spice continues in book 4/5

I DNF it at page 120…
I freakin loved the first and second book so im wondering why i hate this one so much. First, I guess the slow burn romance is beginning to be annoying and unlogical from my opinion. Second, i find the characters come and go so fast we don’t have the Time to know them, like in the first book, i dont know if it will be better in futur books but its not done smoothly. The actions all feel the same, brex escaping on a motorcycle, bombs and her getting kidnapped … every captors either fall in love (its too much at this point) with her or is from her family. Finally, i loved How badass Brex was in the 2 first books but now She just feel childish and selfish. Its not often i DNF a book so im very sad but i got better books to read right now maybe i will try and finish it in the future. The story is interesting but not enough to go through all those annoying details.

This is the best book in this amazing magical series so far. I am OBSESSED. I need the next book like yesterday! I love every single character, no matter how evil or good they are. This is so wonderfully written I never want the story to end.
