Thought provoking quotes. I enjoy them more in the context of the original literary works, though.

If you've not read any of Toni Morrison's work, starting here might be a starting point. This is a short and sweet read, filled simply with some of the most beautiful, heart-wrenching, challenging, thought-provoking, relatable, poetic, and sumptuous quotes from her works. One quote per page. At the back of the book, each page correlates with the book the quote is from.

I thought this was a novel, but it’s just a collection of quotes/sayings/poems, and I wasn’t interested in that at the time I had the book.

I adore Toni Morrison, but this book is simply a book of quotations from her novels and essays. There is no attribution for any of the quotes until the endnotes, but you'll recognise most of them if you've read her work. They still should have put the source of the quotes on the page rather than as endnote attributions. There is no explanation for why these quotes are chosen. It's a disappointing book.
