I think I'm going to remember this book for awhile.
As a primarily femme-attracted bi woman, as well as a Greco-Roman myth fan (albiet picky on retellings), this made me tear up, it feels like this book was made for my exact niche.
•Raya is one of my favorite POVs of all time. Her fears, her love, her personality is hauntingly real.
•Many of the secondary characters clearly have their own lives and stories, from Michael's struggles with transphobia to (my favorite) Char's internalized self-hatred.
•Subtle but prevalent myth parallels! They fit the almost nightmare but all too real reality of the characters and irl victims of "conversion therapy".
•The book has very little fluff, which emphasizes everything in it more (which is important for this book to work)
Read it.

No opinion. The writing was alright, the story was really good. I felt like the mythological aspect didn’t work though, it felt too forced and confusing. There wasn’t enough about it at the beginning so eventually I had no idea what was going on with it, outside of the plot.
