I really enjoyed the story, but the ending kind of ruined it for me.

I love this book! Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Definitely keeps you guessing. I have read all of the books in this series and have loved each one. Parts are very sad and dark, but this is a suspenseful, wonderfully written book with characters I have come to care about. Recommended for fans of the author, Scandinavian crime novels, or great thrillers in general.

La mejor novela de la saga hasta ahora. Me encantó.
Además Camilla debería cambiar su título de "la reina de la novela negra" y pasarse a llamar la reina de los cliffhangers al final del libro, porque QUE FORMA DE TERMINAR UN LIBRO!!!
Ya me dan ganas de arrancar el próximo.

I think the crime element of these books becomes more and more bizarre. The cases seem to be open to anybody who wants to drill down and the stories ever more expansive and incredible.
Whilst that part of the reading experience feels flawed, both the main and minor characters truly sing from the pages

I really enjoy this series. Interesting characters that grow with each new novel. And the author is not afraid to end a book with a shock!
I thoroughly enjoy reading these books even though they all start out a bit slow. They have the compulsive readability of Lisa Jewell thrillers but with darker, more complicated, twistier plots–perfect for keeping my brain engaged when it is tired. I also have grown to care a lot about the regular characters. The thing that's starting to aggravate me as I get close to finishing the series is the author's ostensible belief that I'll only read the next book if there is a JUST GIVE ME THE SNOW AND THE MURDER AND THE DARK SWEDISH JOKES, CAMILLA. (That reminds me, I also really hate it when the books take place in a season that's not winter, but this is probably an unreasonable expectation on my part. It's certainly a lot less atmospheric when they're all eating ice cream and talking about boats.)
This one also veered into questionable territory as far as mental health diagnoses and their presentations but I understand that the books came out in Sweden even more years ago than they were released in the States.

cliffhanger at the end. I particularly resent that this one ended with the lives of several main characters in mortal peril. This one also veered into questionable territory as far as mental health diagnoses and their presentations but I understand that the books came out in Sweden even more years ago than they were released in the States.
