First 6 hours (audiobook) are best, then it just gets repetitive and convoluted.

This book was horrendous. I'm shocked I actually finished it though I might have been sleeping with my eyes open for a few chapters. The writing is really bad - immature and repetitive. He needed a better editor. The author/the story is misogynist and colorist; he has a disdain for skin that isnt white. What a huge disappointment because the Bourne movies are my favorite action thrillers. The screenwriters should have been nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. They turned garbage into gold.

There are parts of The Bourne Identity that are really great, and then Ludlum uses dialogue to dump backstory on you. And the cycle repeats. It's a decent spy novel with lots of interesting twists and turns, but the pacing was really terrible. It seemed ridiculously long. I honestly thought I would never finish it.

I'd say if you are a die hard fan of spy novels and haven't read this one, you'll probably enjoy it.

This was a really excellent book. The pace was fast paced and the story was quite intriguing. It is definately different from the movie, but well worth the read. Highly recommended.

So Emily, I thought I'd copy your idea and try out one of the famous Bourne books...

the last 50 pages were exciting, but after seeing the movie version, that is modern and much more fast paced, the book doesn't compare.

This book is fantastic! If you think you know the story from seeing the movie, think again. Bourne is way more realistic, and Marie isn't just a gypsy girl wandering around Europe. Devious, twisted, and fascinating. A must read!

A really great story that is powerful in its own right. Loads of secrets and intense characters spring up amongst fast-paced plot maneuvering with bursts of action that inspired the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed the fun on this literary thill ride!
