That was good.
I couldn't stop reading once I hit page 400 or so.
All the pieces pulling together, bureaucracy at it's finest.
Very nice.
So, question: can I read something else or should I push on to the sequel?

Can I just say...this is a macho man's perfect romance. Protag kidnaps a lady, she gets caught in crossfire, he breaks several promises, she escapes him to police who are actually imposters and plan to kill her after a quick rape. Protag rescues her mid-rape and two days later they're fucking. Still on the run and she has no more info about him, but now they're in love. Nary a bit of romance. Or realism.

I've read this before and used to love Ludlum, but I found it hard to read now. The pacing, the POV switches, the flashbacks, the soliloquizing, the facts, none of it sat right with me. A lot may have aged out, in terms of tech. I had to google Carlos, didn't want to see the series through but Jason realizes Carlos is a known public figure and I wanted to find out who. Based on Wikis, that fact is never mentioned again. Definitely will not need to read the series.

Wow! I love the movies and nothing will ever change that, but this book was amazing. They're completely different stories, so don't expect to know the ending before you start the book. The main plot device is the same, that Jason Bourne has amnesia. The only other similarities between the book and movie include character names and locations.

This book was the best in each genre - spy, crime, thriller.

The only problem I have with it is that the love interest is a bit shallow. I understand her initial faith in him, but not her love. This doesn't take away from the story at all, though.

Robert Ludlum is one of the best authors I've read; he kept me engaged for over 500 pages - beginning to end.

I cannot recommend this book enough!

One of my most favorite books.. :) Gave up the second one in middle n never continued but this one I read in one sitting.

I absolutely love the movies and I hoped the books were better, but it was one of those rare instances where the movies were better. Book was slow and dull, took forever to get going, and while the action scenes were good, it didn’t keep me entertained enough.

Didn’t bother finishing - the movie is way better. Save yourself the time and watch the movies, skip the books.
