I was surprised by how much I was drawn in by this book. I liked the movie, and had been told that it was very different from the book- so had assumed that the book wasn't very good. I found it to be a similar concept but much more complex and gripping. Worth a read.

although this book had a very slow start, the end is brilliantly paced and the twists and turns are very engaging
I love the movie with Matt Damon that was inspired by this book. The book itself is okay, but still good enough.
After watching the movie The Bourne Identity I thought I would give the book a go. I really enjoyed the movie and most times the book is way better. Unfortunately this is one of the very rare times when the movie is way better than the book. I actually did not finish this book, my library loan expired before I managed to make it to the end. I only read 70% so...I usually have a very hard time not finishing a book once I start, but I just don't care enough to wait for this book to come in again at the library to finish it.
The issue I had with this book? The writing made everything incredibly tedious or boring. I struggled to read it even though it should have been fun and exciting. I like the overall storyline, but the execution put me to sleep. Big shoot outs, escaping from the villains, all of it was just boring. Then in between boring action there was Jason being all who am I??? I understand why that would be important to him, but I got tired of reading it. I didn't really care about any of the characters, I didn't really care what happened, it was just unfortunate since the story itself was interesting.

Wow... Just wow... I thought since I’d watched the movie I knew how the story went and that was only true for the names and the amnesia - everything else is completely different. If you were like me and thought I don’t need to read the book I’ve watched the Matt Damon movie you are wrong - I was wrong.

Read the book - it’s a different story, a different plot. It was SO good! I loved Marie’s character - so smart, so intuitive, and so trusting. Jason Bourne as you can imagine is a bad ass, but the book showed such a softer side to him as well and really portrayed the struggles of the amnesia and finding himself/who he really is...

That is all I will say - Put your preconceived notions aside and pick up this book.

Holy mother of Twitch. This book, took me WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too long to read. Based on the fact that it was recommended to me in a "You'll read this in two days" kind of way, it took me over a MONTH. Which says a LOT, when it is the only book I'm working on.
It's not that its a bad book, it's not. (Although I absolutely detested when he would write stuff in German or French...and gave no context clues for me to figure out what it meant--that was annoying.) While I was reading, I liked what I was reading. But I never wanted to drop everything and read.
A MONTH!! One book!
ahh!

(Audiobook) Ludlum’s extensive world of Jason Bourne begins! I’ve always enjoyed the movies but they certainly do not do justice to the book.
Entirely different than the movie. I prefer the movie version.
