There are many things to love in this book - the depth in Pizzazz, Blaze joining the Misfits, Techrat... Unfortunately, I kinda hated the Dark Jem storyline. Onward and upward, though. I’m already knee-deep in the arrival of the Stingers and loving it.

Fun, but it's premise seems to be most an excuse to goth out all the non-gothy characters (which I am totally on board with). The ending seemed a little forced, and there are some questions that need to answered in the next book, but overall it was a good 3rd trade.

I adore the characters and character art in this series! This was an especially fun one since we get to see "dark" versions of all of the members of Jem and the Holograms. The plot isn't too deep, but it still managed pulled on my heartstings a bit.

I really liked the Dark Jem storyline. Sophie Campbell's art is phenomenal as always. I love Jem Bartel as well. I am looking forward to reading volumes 5 and 6.

I enjoy these more than I expected. But the diversity feels a bit forced when every band in the book has the same 25% African-American members. This happened at least 4 times. Why not 50% or 75% or 100%? I would totally read a spin off comic where they all quit and start their own band called The Token Black Girls.

The darker plot and artwork is what I expect from Campbell (recently read Wet Moon by her). I love that we get to know Blaze more, but I’m frustrated with how the Jerrica and the Holograms are handling things.

The heck!? Beautiful art once again but I’m not sure how to feel about the main story arc...
