CW for flashbacks hinting at sexual abuse of a child
I'm absolutely here for the weirdness of this story. And for Elva's and Alto's love story. My only gripe is that sometimes the wording is off, like it doesn't make sense at times, especially during inner dialog scenes. I'm gonna get into spoilers down below!
Three major things happened in this book: Elva's backstory got a bit darker, Elva slowly coming to accept his feelings for Alto, and Alto's hidden backstory. First, I was not prepared for how creepy the Lord is of this island. He's just...watches shit happen to Elva. And poor Elva, I was hoping this series wouldn't get too dark, but I'm guessing using what is essentially child soldiers negates that. Nothing on page happens (only Elva remembering a dark shed and the hand of the groundskeeper on his shoulder).
One of the modern-smuggled people show Elva his Instagram of all the same-sex couples when they begin to talk about Elva and Alto's relationship. I like that Elva is getting more exposed to different kinds of love that aren't abuse. But, accidentally seeing a more adult video of two gay men has Elva wanting to experience that with Alto, knowing it will be different from his abuse. But of course, as that part of Alto's life goes up, the freaking Dark Sea possessions reveal that Alto is!!!
A half-breed of a Dark Sea possession and a regular human. They call him his Prince and his duty is to kill all the Kunagi!! This one really had be gasping like a fish! I couldn't believe that Alto, who is so loving and kind to Elva and the other Kunagi, is a Dark Sea hybrid! Oooh, it makes me ache to read the next volume!

In questo volume ci sono i plot twistoni. Apprezzo che ci sia un progresso sia nella trama sia nella relazione tra Alto e Elva, le due cose sono ben bilanciate. Prevedo casini nel prossimo volume

This volume delves more into the world construct, about how and why things are happening behind the scenes, who he Lord and the nuns are and how their behaviour impacts the other characters.
I don't want to say too much, because there was a lot going on in this volume. But, what an ending! There were so many huge revelations, but that ending was a spectacular ending!
TRIGGERS: war, child abuse, PTSD
