Didn't have a lot of idea of what I was getting into with this book but it was fantastic. Maybe it could have been a bit longer and expanded on on some aspects but I think that would have taken away some of the horror and creepiness by explaining away some of the mystery. I think just seeing what happens with little to no understanding of why makes it that much scarier. Probably going to be my go to horror rec from now on.

Didn't do much for me. The narrator was really great, though.

A genuine “don’t read with the lights out” breakneck horror story with a central theme of overcoming vs. giving into your vices.  “But you can”t surprise a thing that lives inside you”

This book had great suspense, and the tension was top-notch.

The author's imagery was almost artistic at times, which made the premise of the story that much more intense.

What it says on the tin really - book about a woman who thinks she’s been possessed by a demon. Just wish it was longer - it felt like we got the gist of the plot, but missed out on details so it felt rushed. Its short length is great for a quick unsettling read but does a disservice to the directions this story could’ve taken.

I like my horror to be a bit gorier or spookier than this one was willing to go, but I can't pretend it wasn't compellingly written, seeing as I read it in one day.

Perhaps this simply is not my genre. I found the main character annoying - too annoying to enjoy the book. In the end I didn’t really care what happened to her and don’t get why the demon is so happy to still be with her even after she’s been locked up. I also didn’t care for how the killing of Edward was breezed over and if I’m not mistaken, he had been cheating on her since the start of the book, no? Again, this may not be a genre for me.
