"Come closer" achieved to be catching even when we already had a pretty good idea of what was happening and what would happen. For me, it wasn't as much about mystery as it was about witnessing a women's downfall in insanity. It could have been maybe more subtle sometimes, let her fall take smaller steps, but quicker, maybe. Overall I still really liked it.

I must admit the drowning episode took me a little by surprise at a time where I was beginning to loose focus.

I thought I would like this more based on all the great reviews but I found this to be a bit of a drag to get through ( I listened on audio, I thought the narration was good though.) This is a story told in first person of possession which I thought was a great concept but I didn't love the execution. I know reading is subjective, so this is only my opinion but I thought it was pretty boring and I didn't love the casual homophobia...
