I wanted to enjoy this as an examination of the lengths people will go to to cure their own grief and others, watching Evelyn go from skeptic to adherent as it benefited her and decided if her husband really had these powers or if he really wanted to have these powers. People certainly are willing to accept what benefits what they want to believe. Unlike a lot of the reviews here, I did enjoy the plot twist on the last page, but I think that the characterization overall was too flat for the pay-off to really feel earned. This handled really interesting concepts about halfway.
