I had no clue this was mostly going to be erotica, which isn't what I look for in my romance reads even though I do like smut! Point being: the chemistry, tension, and backstory between Jessica and Manson had me flipping through the pages and finishing this novella super quick. There aren't many books tackling the flipped version of the "opposites attract" trope in which the out-of-this-world beautiful, popular character is the girl and the misfit-loser-wallflower-bullied character is the guy. Looooved that dynamic and def wanna read more about them!

The rest of the sub/dom, smut, "why choose?" aspects of the book I could do without, but I'm sure those who are into that are in for a treat.

I opened the cover thinking it could potentially be a fun hot read. I greatly underestimated just how good this story would be. Sexy clowns? Let's just say I went from highly skeptical to them being one of my favorite parts. If you like a bit of dark and dangerous with your erotica, look no further. Excellent read.

I just gonna come out the gate and say that I picked this up specifically because of how many people complained about clowns being in it. I love them so I'm down to clown (I'll see myself out). Other than that, I had no idea what the book was about going in to it, but I am satisfied coming out of it. I enjoyed the exploration, the constant confirmations of consent, and everything that happened. I am only really giving it a four star because in the beginning the writing was really cheesy and I groaned. In the first dozen or so pages, I thought I made a mistake because I didn't want to keep reading in the mindset the main character starts out with. But as the book went on this mind set dissipated. Had it completely been washed away once she started to learn or learned her lesson about casting judgment and bullying, I would have enjoyed it a little more. But it was one night, so we got what we got.

When I tell you this was nothing I expected but also everything? I hope that makes sense. I really enjoyed my time with this short book. It's got a pile of CW I highly recommend you read before diving in and just enjoy the ride.

The beginning felt cliched but as the story unfolded it was just delightful. I honestly didn't expect to love this as much as I did.

I Love These Characters So Much

I absolutely loved this! After seeing this book all over Booktok and Bookstagram I finally dived into this series. And I now understand what I was missing out on.

Former high school Queen Bee, Jessica Martin goes to a Halloween party looking to have fun and living out her former Queen Bee life. But what she didn’t expect was to run into Manson Reed, the boy her and her high school bf used to bully. And Manson Reed gets his revenge in the best ways. A beer pong game with dares

Be warned there are clowns ahead. But outside of that this was great. The scenes were dirty, and fun. Manson was the stereotypical he was a nerd but now he is hot. Jess is kinda a bitch but she’s 19 and people who are told they are better than everyone their whole life have to learn to grow out of that. I think that is what her character is leaning towards in the end.
Ngl I think Ashley is great, I was worried she was going to be the typical snobby friend, who isn’t actually a friend but she seemed pretty genuine(hopefully Losers doesn’t make me take that back).
