As a relatively new fantasy reader, I enjoyed this series so far. There is a lot of fast paced action that is well done.

The Codex Alera series gets better and better with each book. I'm completely hooked! Jim Butcher has created a richly detailed world with powerful, well-drawn characters, a continuously emerging backstory, complex mythology, vicious political scheming, and yes, even romance and family drama. I can't wait to see where the story -- and our hero -- go next.
