Another 2 years down the track sees Tavi firmly established as a Captain, these last few novels really have been my favourites they cover all of the awkward coming of age scenes that I just devour.

What an ending! Two years into his role as Rufus Scipio, Tavi has long escaped the attention of the Aleran lords, but as Gaius sets out on a mission with Amara and Bernard to take care of the Kalarus problem once and for all, there's nothing stopping them from reaching out for more control.

I'd forgotten the dreariness of the Amara!Gaius storyline, the sheer fun of Tavi just being allowed to run around amuck, and the addition of the Canim interactions keep me so entertained.

This book started very slow and almost lost my attention in the first third of the novel before things picked up. This is partially because it was following a very solid book three and I was hoping to pick up where it left off. Half way through though, things finally started to pick up and there was some good resolution in this book. I'll start book five tonite :)

So far, my favorite in the series! Secrets revealed, lots of action and everything comes into focus.

Oh Jim, you're making me question my loyalty to Harry... I'm really starting to like Tavi.
