This was a fun read with lots of stories I've heard before, but a few things I hadn't.  I used to listen to the Lore podcast so this was right up my alley.  Thought about starting up the podcast again!

This book of short stories primarily focuses on U.S. and English folklore and gives overviews of tales rather than anything in-depth. Regardless, "Monstrous Creatures" is a good book to have on hand for spare moments or breaks between denser novels.

Wellwritten and super interesting. I particularly liked the section on vampires. Unfortunately the later half of the book felt a little like a bunch of ghost stories stapled together rather than something with an over arching narrative/point. Still definitely enjoyable.
