I think there was some real potential with this story and characters, I'm always up for murder mysteries where a woman is the lead detective, and the Victorian setting was really appealing, but I didn't really like the protagonist, and I just felt bored.

Maybe it's because I'm not in the right headspace for this book right now, because there wasn't anything really wrong about the writing and story, I just wasn't sucked in, sadly.

This was a really good one! Loved reading about old England again, the details and all the Jack the Ripper facts! Really like the development of the story and seeing Audrey and Thomas relationship growing. Can't wait to read the next one!

This is an amazing fast-paced page-turning historical crime romance novel.
It was incredibly enjoyable and fascinating. ) Love d the characters and the world-building. Read it super fast, there was a steady pace from beginning to end.

Loved the way she took a historical crime character and turned it into a brilliant story. it is true that it's wrong to be fascinated with a murderer like Jack the Ripper for what he is done is unfathomable still, it shows how much the human brain and soul are still a mystery to be solved.

Highly recommended to fantasy crime romance novels fans. it was addicting!

This book isn't perfect, but I bad an amazing reading experience with this - partly because of the book itself and partly because of the atmosphere I created in my room to read this.
I really liked the atmosphere of the book, I listened to a matching instrumental playlist while reading it, so I felt like I was right there in the 19th century with them.
I liked Audrey Rose as a character, and ended up liking her love interest too, although I thought he was a bit creepy at first.
There was one revelation at the end that shocked me, and one that didn't surprise me at all (and I think the author could have hidden this a bit better throughout the book, but I didn't mind too much because it was still well done in my opinion).
I also really liked the writing style, tho it took me  a while go get used to it.
Overall, I personally had an amazing experience reading this book, and even though the book has some flaws, I'm giving it five stars because I know the story and the experience will stay with me.
