I think this is the first audiobook I've read where I've been so genuinely excited to pick it back up and listen during any spare moment I had!

Even though I've never experienced a tragic loss like the main character, I found myself relating to her so much.

It was heartbreaking and healing at the same time.

I surprisingly enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. It was the cover that instantly caught my attention because look how gorgeous it is! Can you blame me?! And once you finish the book you’ll realise how much meaning there is behind the title sunset and ah honestly my heart couldn’t take it.

Don’t let the bright and happy cover fool you though, this book deals with many sensitive topics the main theme being grief which I know could be triggering for some. Cave dealt with this topic in such a great way and portrayed perfectly how differently grief affects everyone. We all deal with it in different ways. Whilst it was sad and my heart ached for Ruth I really liked the way that Cave had written it in such a witty and conversational way. It made me smile and laugh at times and also felt as if I was having a chat with a friend.

It’s a very character driven story which usually I’m not as much a fan of as I prefer an exciting plot to keep me going but it worked with this novel and I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

Sunset was a beautifully told story of an unbreakable bond between two sisters. Complete opposites but the best of friends. A fantastic debut from Jessie Cave, I loved her writing style and I look forward to hopefully reading more of her work in the future!

Thankyou so much to Welbeck Publishing group for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review
