Enjoyable, but I enjoyed the series and movies, so I’m biased.

I enjoyed this book and I now feel some sympathy for Hannibal. I wonder if he would have turned out a monster if the things that happened in his youth did not happen.

It was well written and gave good reasons and beginnings for the traits I remember him having. I thought the reader did a very good job with character definition.

Now, I need to go back and read the first two.

It's completely unnecessary but not nearly as bad as I had feared. A classic 2 and a half stars would not recommend.

This was fine. I think the magic of the Hannibal books involves a case, a serial killer, an engaging agent and Hannibal taunting them. This backstory didn't feel incredibly needed though I enjoyed it enough. Sometimes complexity lies in shadows and shining a light on it makes it worse.

It was good. I just didn't understand some characters motives and reasons for doing certain things, especially regarding the police man and the stepmother was confusing at times too.

DNF, nothing like the first couple of books. Very boring and not interesting at all.
