While fun to read, the chemistry between the leads was virtually non-existent to me. Kind of meh.

There’s dubious consent due to a love potion, addressed within the narrative.aliteraryescape's review against another edition

I did feel like it was slightly less charming than the first book, probably because it has an insta-love element and is missing the adventure component. Still, if Kimberly Lemming were to write a million books in this series, I’d read all of them.

Again, the conflict resolution felt rushed and I felt there was a bit of the miscommunication trope (sort of, don't let it deter you; it does make sense in this scenario, it was just very mildly irksome) but I still enjoyed the romance between Brie and Felix.
I can't judge a short book too harshly for moving everything along quickly, even if it's a little too quickly, so the main reason I didn't give a better rating is because this book didn't feel different enough from the first book. It needed to have its own uniqueness to keep it from feeling boring and like it's basically just rehashing the same plot/conflict.
It sounds like the 3rd book is a bit different, but I won't be reading it right away. I think I would have liked this second book better if I would have read some other books in between, maybe, so I'm hoping that will be the case if I wait a bit to read the 3rd book.

In this second book, Brie (my favorite cheese btw), is being hounded by a man she has no interest in (every woman can relate to this). He tries something egregious and desperate to force her to be with him and her reaction changes everything. Brie yeets a love potion that hits a werewolf named Felix, causing him to imprint on her immediately. Or does he? Brie has two weeks before the potion wears off to find out if Felix is her soulmate or just drugged.
Not gonna lie, I am TERRIFIED of werewolves. I’ve skipped a lot of films because werewolves were present and I find them to be absolutely horrifying. Brie’s feelings about Felix were conflicted cuz on one hand, he’s hot and protective and wants to make her happy. On the other, he’s a werewolf that can rip the arms off of anyone he deems an enemy. But Brie handles it much better than I would have.
The author’s writing in this book is much better than the first and I actually got a little emotional reading it. Brie is more relatable because she’s like a lot of us who have our walls up to protect ourselves. Although Felix does any and everything to show his love is genuine, Brie fights it because she doesn’t believe she deserves his love. She keeps those walls up for as long as she can, but Felix is stubborn in a great way.
Of course, the author turned up the spice in this second book. She gave readers the kind of spice we didn’t know could be written (at least I didn’t). Let’s just say I was glad to be home when I read them. I loved the chemistry between Brie and Felix. It felt very real and not forced.
I definitely want to read the next book in the series to see what’s next for the citizens of Boohail and who will be lucky enough to fall in love.

Brie and Felix's romance is a whirlwind, but a hilarious and sexy one - while also feeling more natural to me than the first book's romance. Prepare for a monster/paranormal romance with kinky moments.
I loved the multiple POV's, which made both Brie and Felix feel authentic. And the side characters had me rolling with laughter. 10/10 on humor and wit!
I do wish there were more pages again. I would have loved to get more development of Brie's past and fear of commitment. Nonetheless, it felt like the author hit her stride better in this second book within the small page count. There was a better balance between plot and romance and it don't feel choppy at all.
