5 stars cause wow

the way this book ends compared to how it starts is a wild transition and it was so so SO good. I was gonna rate this maybe like 4.5 to 4.75 and I still might cause I fear the rest of this series is gonna be insane and this was only the beginning and I have it at 5 already. 

I have about a trillion tabs in this book because there is so much commentary about The Society and that translates extremely easily to commentary about the real world and in an odd way it was comforting to read about characters that struggle in a world not built to favor them.

all in all this was fantastic and I definitely see some similarities to the hunger games, while it's not identical in nature there are some themes that are present in both. onto golden son next 🫠🫠

Nothing original in it. At first I thought interesting -Mars exploration. Then he used cities and names from other books. Osgiliath and Severus. Then it devolves into another Lord of the Flies. It was too alpha male and ultimately boring.
