I find the pacing of the book a bit hard to follow.

I really wanted more of the 1st 20% of the book and I wished the world building in the latter part went more into the other colors as well as how they were trained. 

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable book, would probably read the 2nd book just to see what happens next, but I felt that things escalated very quickly and way faster than I was expecting. 

There are definitely some plot points that makes you question what is happening in the book, and that’s what I want the answers to.

It didn’t pick up until about 50 pages in and then it just kept getting faster and faster til the end! Such a fun read, but definitely is drawing on classic tropes. Sometimes it just made me want to read other books that employ the same tropes rather than reading this one.
