Perhaps I’m not a sci-fi girlie…
I knew going into this I would potentially struggle with the sci-fi element and the heavy political themes throughout this book. But it is incredibly hyped and I always like to try books out of my comfort zone.
It started off slower than I expected given a lot of people have said it is very fast paced. I think it took about 50 pages for me to really get interested in the story and the characters. After that point, it was fairly easy to get through with the constant action and short chapters.
That being said, the characters I found difficult to connect with. They are all so young for the high stakes and violence in this book. And maybe that is just a perspective I have now at 25 that I wouldn’t have had at 16 - because obviously when you are 16 you feel so ‘old’

YABADABADOO VI ÄR IGÅNG!!!! Hade nästan glömt hur kul och bra de här böckerna är!! Segt att komma igång men nu fan! Tre saker tror jag är det enda jag tänkte på.
Allt mellan Lykos och institutet går så otroligt fort och är väldigt överdrivet.. kändes typ inte som kvaliten jag förväntade mig (och sen kommer tillbaka i resten av boken). Jag förstår att Darrow har en hybris som absolut ingen annan men att han går från att ligga kvidandes på ett operationsbord till en lysande atlet på typ fyra månader.... Och att han pluggar felfritt till provet på tre månader.. ja.. kanske inte det mest trovärdiga i boken...
Sen hur FUCKING bra Pierce Brown är på att skriva action!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man förstår precis det man behöver förstå, lätt att hänga med för han fastnar inte i små detaljer utan det är väldigt tydligt men översiktligt!! Absolut kung.
Sist men inte minst att jag inte tar tillbaka NÅGOT om hur mycket jag älskar Tactus!! 10/10 karaktär. Bästa jag vet. Charmig. Odräglig. Vidrig. Rolig. Och lojal! Det bästa av alla världar!!
(Ps. Är första boken en femma...... hmmm... nja... Den är med rätta en fyra men med helheten i åtanke och!! Att nostalgi och kärlek övervinner det rationella resonemanget får den femman som den förtjänar)

Really quick read super thrilling and the fights were great, chracters and plot were not very complex, besides the main chracter. Loved the way it handled his journey of vengeance, favorite moment was the whip scene. The beginning was the best part, not ashamed to admit i cried.
