Whoa—the details are all coming together now. It's so satisfying to read a lengthy serialized story where it doesn't feel like the author is just making it up as she goes. I don't know if anyone has ever compared Hiromu Arakwa to Charles Dickens, but I have the same feeling of every detail, every character, every bit of past history, eventually fitting together in unforeseen but perfect ways in this complex world.

In this volume it was painful to see Ed get so close to Al's real body—but unable to bring it back to the real world yet. The mythology and mechanics of the world deepen considerably here. However, with no Winry at all, it can't be more than four stars. Where was Winry?
