A beautifully told story with great execution. I highly recommend it if you enjoy Sci-Fi. My only contention was some parts of the ending, but considering how well the rest of this book was written, I'll forgive the author.

My wife and I tag-team read this to the kids in anticipation of the movie. I had never read Card before and doubt I'll read more, but I did enjoy this book in spite of some sluggishness here and there, a build-up to a pretty obvious climax, and kind of a weird ending.

Unlike my normal MO, I took my time reading this book, about a chapter each night.

And I enjoyed it immensely. It started slow, but ended strong. It is an intricate and interesting read on a fictional humanity, and how far a person, especially one very young, can be pushed. I liked the character of Ender and how he compared to his brother and sister. I wish that the brother and sister's storyline had been a little more developed, because I was fascinated with it but it was barely mentioned.

Overall, I would recommend this to someone who likes a slow and steady read with some deep implications.

I was very leery about reading this because it was a 1980's sci-fi book which to me are normally super cheesy but after a friend raved about it I decided that it was worth a shot and I am glad I got it. It's such a good premise for a story and it is very good writing! I will definately recommend it to my friends!
