Hemingway did a fantastic job capturing the aimlessness of the post-war 20s. All these characters seem to do is drink all day and insult each other. I read this in preparation for a group friends trip and I was struck by how realistic the characters felt. I'm sure I could name a real life counterpart for each main character. I also really enjoyed the juxtaposition between Paris' more calm and controlled setting versus the more intense and chaotic fiesta in Pamplona.
Relatively good book and quick read. Not the best thing I’ve ever read but it was nice to read something of a different pace than usual. Interesting to read about what it was like for a somewhat successful white man living abroad in paris and seeing his day to day life with friends
