Am extremely touching, deep book about life after the war to end all wars and young love.

Great read! It was a slow burn for me, but by the end I couldn’t put it down. Gave me a little bit of a Jack and Rose Titanic vibe

I loved this book! This is fantastic historical fiction. The story is unveiled in such a perfect way. Highly recommend if you like historical fiction and romantic stories!

I must say, wasn’t really expecting to like this book as much as I did. The shift into the third act was fantastic, and catapulted this from three to a solid four. It’s like a lighter-read Daniel Deronda, though more elegiac. Awesome read!
emotional lighthearted sad slow-paced

Started off a bit slow, picked up halfway or so and I couldn’t put it down. Heartfelt ending, I was sobbing (in a good way).

This book started slow for me. But as the story continued, I became more invested in both timelines. I wanted to know if Selina and Lawrence had a happy ending and what was going on in the present time with them. I wanted to know why Alice was with her grandparents. The ending was sad.
