Ten strangers are summoned to a beautiful island home and as soon as they arrive they begin to die... one at a time. The guests quickly realize they are stranded here and by the time the police arrive... everyone is dead. This is a classic mystery with and ending that I never saw coming. If you are in the mood for a classic novel that is a quick and fun read I can definitely recommend this!

Agatha Christie is a big name for a reason, no doubt. Such good pacing and tension and cool characters and the nursery rhyme for a little pizzazz. I was very taken by the intro bit in my copy from Christie’s personal writings that talked about her wanting to make this concept work just because it was difficult and that made it fun. Well it certainly made it fun to read.
This feels like such good old-timey classic mystery. It gives me all the closed-group murder tension, the farcical Clue scenes with a cluster of frightened idiots scrambling from room to room only to find someone or something else missing from where they thought it was, and even the reveal (which can get a bit heavy handed in old mysteries) was at least fashioned in a unique format.
Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to read classic mystery or just classic works in general, especially if you’re overwhelmed about difficult styles/forms/dialects/etc. This book reads as very contemporary.
