reading this book, which specifically highlights how many students slip through the cracks in the high school to college transition, reminded me of everything I was afraid of when our oldest went to school. many of my fears did not come to pass; some I still have. this book is a devastating and necessary read for parents, teachers, coaches, and students themselves.
I think the author summed up a major theme of the book in this one line, speaking about her own life but also directly applying it to her ideas about Maddy's:
"could something be too much without me being not enough?"
May Madison's memory, and the memories of every student who didn't find a way out, be a blessing.

(Quick read, finished in one day!) Kate Fagan does a great job bringing to light this tragic event. I had a difficult time in some chapters as I could relate to Maddy and her struggles. This is a subject that must be related to all.
