READ THIS BOOK!!!!!! So heartbreaking and amazingly written, I strongly believe that everyone should read this book.

The way the author tied together Maddy’s story, with as much information as she could, with her own life and statistical data and studies made it a very impacting read. I finished it in under 3 hours I couldn’t put it down.

I believe everyone can learn from Maddy’s story and apply it to their own life, as we will all go through major transitions in our life and need to be reminded that it is not just us who may be struggling.

Beyond moving. The way this book is laid out with details from Maddy's life and research on mental health made me never want to put the book down. Similarly, the relatability of the author, Kate Fagan, really spoke to me. While I can't really relate to what happened to Maddy, Kate's telling of Maddy's story through telling her own story, helps me become a more empathetic reader and person in general.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, and I wasn't disappointed. I think this is a very important read for those with loved ones in college or high school right now, to understand the pressures that they feel from their peers, their institutions, and their families. The collection of personal text messages and conversations with her friends helps the reader to understand how little things all added up to Maddie's final act, and how to those on the outside looking in could have missed the signs. Emotional, heartbreaking, and relatable. RIP Maddie.

I identified with this book so much

If you have children in your life, whether they play sports or not, this is a book you should read. Really heartbreaking and informative.

Towards the end, it became very real and heartbreaking.

I don’t typically rate non-fiction because it feels like I’m judging someone’s life, but with this book I can’t not rate it. I really enjoyed Kate Fagan’s writing style. It felt like I was watching a 30 for 30 episode. I loved all of her commentary. As a former college student and current school teacher it brought up so many valid points, some things I’ve been saying for a while. I found myself wanting to highlight certain sections of the book, which I never do. It brought up good discussions with my husband who was a college athlete and current teacher/coach. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This book is a necessary read for anyone with a high school or college age kid. ESPN reporter, Kate Fagan, does a wonderful job of putting together this girl's story in an attempt to explain how a girl who seemingly had it all was falling apart inside. It was heartbreaking to read, but left me with hope that it will help other parents recognize when their kids need the help that Maddy did.
