closer to four-and-a-half, i think. koch's language escaped me once or twice. much more often than not, it hits on a level i'm not going to try and describe, for fear of sounding pretentious. at play throughout is a visceral, gentle joy, whether the things he describes are happy or sad. not enough people exude this kind of fundamental "alrightness" with Living Life. certainly not i, but i am working on it, and these sorts of things help. perhaps jonathan richman was taking notes.
