 Pros:

  • Writing Style. Okay, I know this was clearly stated in the “why I picked this up,” but Rin Chupeco’s writing style always sucks me in.
  • Sets of Two. It felt truly equal a between a balance and an opposition between the two groups.
  • Characters. Speaking of the two groups, the characters within them are so wonderful and unique.
  • Tropes. This story has many standard tropes; however, it’s how they are used that has me go “yes, this is interesting.”
Cons:

  • Pacing. Sometimes the pacing felt a bit disjointed with what was going on.

Being new to Rin chupeco's writing, now I see why everyone loves it. Her writing is so vivid and it reaches down to your heart and bones, making you feel everything.
The never tilting world is truly a masterpiece to read. It revolves around 2 kingdoms-- one of eternal light and one of eternal darkness due to a betrayal between sisters.

As we see Odessa and her romance with Lan, I find it interestong how they fell in love at a bookshop. Their journey, at times seems more complicated than Haidee and Arjun's , but nonetheless both went through great journeys.
I absolutely love Arjun! He's my favorite perspective and I knew that from the moment he saw Haidee (and tried to kill her) I knew they would end up together. His journey from pretending to not care about her to him falling in love was truly entertaining to read and their journey through the desert had me at the edge of my seat.

Overall, Haidee and Arjun's story was my favorite because of how they annoyed each other all while falling in love, but Lan and Odessa's romance was enthralling with their steamy moment leading to them getting caught.
I love both sisters so much and I really don't want any of them to die. I cannot wait to read the ever cruel kingdom! Please let me know if anyone can find access to an ARC for this book!
