I finally did it! I read this book - yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayay!

The Never Tilting World was an interesting book. Heck, the title alone intrigued me. Didn't hurt that the cover looks amazing as well. Unfortunately, for most of this book I was dazed and confused. Seriously had no idea what was really going on and I can't even blame work for it. I think my brain was somewhat melting throughout reading this and what was going on in my real life. So it was a blessing in disguise that I took my sweet ass time with this book.

At one point, things started to make sense. Little by little it was like a lightbulb went off and I got super excited. Besides that, the characters definitely grew on me like leeches and I'm not afraid to admit that I shipped certain people together. There is no way I'm going to jinx myself and say it in this review.. because I want my ship to sail.

Sail into the next beautiful book to come my way.

Overall, really enjoyed this one and can't wait for the next book!

Holy. Shit.
So I had mixed feelings through the first half of this book. Some of the choices of characters or the way things were worded bugged me a bit....making me think, yikes I just really can't do YA anymore huh?

And then the second half of the book was BATSHIT crazy. The second half is what made this a 4 star.
Odessa is not my favorite....like at all. But Lan is cool. Haidee is the best. Arjun is a muthafucking king.

And I already just ordered book 2. Because I need it.

There was so much I enjoyed about this book, that I really can't stop gushing about it. Now, it was a bit longer than I'd expected, but it just added to the world building and that's more than okay with me. This was about a world where twins and their decisions, their sacrifice, are at the forefront of all that becomes and exists in the world that has been formed. But, what took me in even more were the other characters' in this book, one in particular being Lan (Catseye Tianlan).
"His gaze fell on mine and widened in horror. My eyes glowed like shining glass despite the heavy gloom, one as gold as an idol and the other a pale silver. 'B-bright Lady,' he stuttered. I grinned. 'Not a lady,' I said, and let the aether-gates within my eyes flare."
Even more than that, was how her story and that of Odessa were introduced to the reader. It wasn't some sort of insta anything and I had much appreciation for that. Aside from that, moving to the world of shadows, prophecies, a world that doesn't spin, this had it all. Like I mentioned above, at times it did seem to go on a little longer, or have parts that I could have done without (mostly, a bit of repetitiveness), but it wasn't enough to keep me from enjoying the contents of this novel.
"I can't guarantee what manner of beasts we might find out there, but at least I've upped our chances. Even taking into account any arsenic in the rocks that might leach into the sand. I doubt it's of a high enough concentration to corrode the metal. There may be animals inhabiting the area possessing toxins, but the roof and the incanta I'll be adding there will make it harder for them to get to us."
That there, along with all the colorful and lively characters, is what kept me reading and wanting to know more. If anything, aside from a few minor flaws, the other thing that left me a bit antsy, is that I have to wait for a sequel. Hopefully, the wait won't be long and I'll be able to get my hands on it soon, as it left me wanting to know more about the origin of the prophecies, where that leaves the future of the world, and the goddess that wishes to rule them all. Looking forward to all of it!

I think the plot wasn’t my thing. I mean, world-building is decent; but some characters are flat, which maybe didn’t allow me to connect with the story.

Twin goddesses undertake a mission to save their broken world in this new fantasy duology.

The idea behind this story is brilliant. I love the mythology of it, and it's well explained at the right speed.

Sadly, the story itself is very slow. There's large swathes where nothing is happening; Team Haidee is trying to get closer, and Team Odessa is meeting another galla while Odessa goes slowly more and more crazy. That's all that happens for a long, long time.

It's a good idea, and I'll probably pick up the second to see what happens. But unless something drastic changes in that one, I think this whole thing could be one book.
